Setting up a double bass is a very particular job. All too often I come across instruments that are very hard to play or that don’t sound very good. For both beginners and the professional player a properly set up instrument is crucial. You’ll enjoy playing more and progress more quickly. It is my mission to get the absolute best out of your instrument.
When faced with an instrument in need of repair there is usually more than one approach. This is why I will always consult with you and discuss all options first before we agree which approach to take. I also welcome and endorse the possibility of clients getting a second opinion before we settle on an agreement for a repair job.
My preference is usually to intervene as little as possible. That limits the costs and preserves the instrument’s original state.
